The Center is excited to announce some of our upcoming events for this spring semester. Our first event, Exploring the Choral Music of South America, will examine the native choral music of South America and will be lead by Maestro Emilio Sole-Sempere, director of Amazonia VE. This will be followed by Patronage and the Exile Writer which will explore the unique relationship between the artist and the patron. We are honored to have author and former Guggenheim fellow Norman Manea leading this discussion. The Center will then be co-sponsoring an event with the department of English titled New Voices, New Perspectives. This event will gather 4 FIU professors who will be discussing their recent research and publications. Finally, we will hosting a discussion on Immigration reform. Multiple Perspectives on Immigration Reform will unite 4 unique representatives of the South Florida community to discuss how Immigration reform will and has affected our community. All these events are free and open to the public. We hope to see you all there.
