On September 18th, 2013, the Center for the Humanities in an Urban Environment held its first event of the 2013-2014 season. The event, titled Preserving Beauty, was held at the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. During the event a lively discussion took place between the employees of Vizcaya and our audience members over different techniques for preservation and whether preservation cannot actually enhance beauty. We would like to thank the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens personal, the Vizcayans members and all those in attendance for a successful and thought-provoking event. If you would like to see more pictures, please visit our Facebook page. We also invite you to attend our upcoming event Consuming Passion, a panel lecture on food production and consumption on September 27th at 8:00 pm at the Books & Books at Coral Gables.
