It is with mixed feelings that I write to announce that Ms. Julieta Gomez de Mello, Center Program Assistant since July of 2012, will be leaving to pursue studies in Law. Julieta has been a tremendous asset to the Center over the past twelve months. Her tact, energy, and efficiency have greatly contributed to the smooth day to day functioning and to the effective long term accomplishments that we enjoyed during our last year of presentations. She will be greatly missed.
Julieta will be replaced by Mr. Aramis Martinez, and I feel most fortunate to have found someone who comes to the job with skills and enthusiasm equal to those of Julieta. Aramis is a graduate of the FIU English Program and also has a Certificate in Film Studies. While still an undergraduate, he served as a Writing Fellow in the Center for Excellence in Writing and also assumed important administrative duties while he was there. Aramis has a strong background in the humanities and a deep commitment to the work of the Center. I feel most fortunate to have hired him.
Please join me in wishing Julieta the very best as she moves to new challenges and in welcoming Aramis to what will be I a sure a very productive time at the Center.
