The Center is very proud to announce our Fall 2013 events schedule. This semester will kick off with events at and co-sponsored by the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens as well as a discussion on Food for Thought at the Books & Books in Coral Gables. The first of the two events taking place at Vizcaya will feature a lively exchange concerning Preservation versus Beauty and it will be followed by a lecture on “A Theory of Cooking” by Chef Mark D’Alessandro. Florida International University’s own Dr. David Lee will also be giving a lecture on Biological Beauty in the Green Library. Finally, the Center will also continue its esteemed partnership with the Program in the Study of Spirituality with the Second Annual Mahavir Nirvan Lecture titled “Applying Jain Principles in Medical Practice” by Dr. Manoj Jain at the Frost Art Museum as well as a Lecture on Sufi Poetry and Music, by Amir Alan Vahab and Peter Rogen at FIU’s Jewish Museum of Florida.
