The Continuing Significance of Exile in American Politics
The Center for the Humanities in an Urban Environment is honored to host Dean Nicol Rae in his return to FIU. Dean Rae was the senior associate dean of the college of arts and sciences at FIU before becoming dean of the college of letters and sciences at Montana State University. Dean Rae will discuss how exile groups and individual political exiles have been significant in American Politics since the time of the revolution. He will also discuss how America’s political system has provided access for these groups to mobilize politically in order to influence US policy toward their homeland, and provided opportunities for other exiled individuals to attain leadership position in American politics. We look forward to you joining us for what is sure to be a fantastic event.
