The Center for the Humanities in an Urban Environment invites you to join us as world-renowned author and FIU alumni; Ana Menendez discusses the subject of exile and the allure of escape. Ana Menendez received her Bachelors of Arts from FIU in 1992 and her M.F.A from New York University in 1999. Shortly after she published her Pushcart Prize winning collection of short stories In Cuba I was a German Shepard. Menendez will be speaking of the exilic experience and the desire for escape and will also be reading a passage from her latest novel. We look forward to seeing you there.
