The Center for the Humanities in an Urban Environment invites you to join us as Dr. David Lee discusses the subject of how science and the arts interact. Dr. Lee was a professor at FIU for over thirty years teaching Biology and is now a Professor Emeritus with the university. Dr. Lee will be discussing how our value of nature is at the heart of the environmental crisis, which may worsen as we grow more and more alienated from nature in our daily life. The lecture will also address how the arts (literature, music and visual) may be our most effective tools in fostering an emotional relationship to nature. We look forward to seeing you there.
