What Are the Humanities Worth

Renowned critic, teacher, college administrator, and New York Times columnist Stanley Fish will give the Center's opening lecture for 2012. Dr. Fish will discuss his sense of the scope and responsibilities of academic freedom particularly in relation to the humanities. Fish has gained an international reputation for his willingness to engage difficult topics often from unpopular points of view. This event will feature a lively exchange of ideas articulated in the learned but accessible style that Fish has cultivated over the years.This event is free and open to the public.
