Film: Cuban America
|Venue:||Wolfe Auditorium, BBC Campus|
For the past 50 years the Cuban immigrant group has established a historical importance, political significance, and economic influence in the city of Miami. Through interviews with Cuban-American students, lawyers, professionals, teachers, entrepreneurs, politicians, activists, authors, public intellectuals, academics, artists, and more, the film explores how this unique group shaped a sleepy, tourist town into a major, metropolitan community and urban environment. This film and the panel discussion that follows will take place in the Wolfe Auditorium, at the Biscayne Bay Campus of FIU, on Tuesday, October 2nd at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
